The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Hi guys! Here we are in another week of classes getting ready to wind down to spring break. This week has been better than the past couple of weeks. It started off with a very productive weekend getting tons of stuff done along with helping out on the farm. I live on a farm that raises lots of cattle and pigs. We also farm a little over 2000 acres growing corn and soybeans. This weekend involved a lot of prep work getting the equipment ready to work the ground and plant the crops this spring. You wouldn’t think that there would be much to do in the off season when you aren’t in the fields all the time but thinking this would be wrong. In the off season we have to wash, wax, service and fix and replace all of the broken parts and pieces. Along with these things we have to market our grain and purchase the seed, chemicals and fertilizers that we will need for the next year. We are always looking to improve off of our previous season. We want to always gain a higher yield off of the cro

The platform we are learning bout this week is twitter. Twitter is another very popular platform that millions of people of all age groups utilize. Twitter is unique because it is more of an up to date form of social media meaning you can keep up with things such as sporting events throughout the entire game getting the play by play action. Today we are learning the business values of twitter. On twitter you should have the username be something related to the business like normal and have the profile picture be yourself at the business or the logo of the business. In the bio make sure to tell the people what you are and what you are about. You should tweet about upcoming events and important things happening in the business. The thing about twitter is you have to kind of summarize what you want to say into 280 words or less. Most of the time you will not ever use the 280 word limit to post about your business because that would bore the potential customers. Using twitter can be very

Here we are in another crazy week of classes. This week however has not disappointed. I started the week off by sleeping through my alarm and forgetting clothes at home that I would need for workouts Monday morning. This soon got better when I came to realize that they were just stuck in the side of my bag where I did not notice them. This craziness carried into Tuesday afternoon when I went to workout at the YMCA. I was on the tread mill running jamming out to some Polo G when I soon realized that music just stopped out of nowhere. I stopped running to check my phone and see if my headphones had just run out of battery, but I looked at them and they had full charge. I then checked my phone to see what was wrong on it and I could not open any apps and even turn my phone off. I finished my workout with no music so you could say that having no music kind of killed the vibes a little bit. After I finished the workout, I went to Verizon to see what was going on. When I showed them what th

Here we are in another week of school learning about how we can use different social media platforms. This week we are learning about how you can use Instagram to market your business. Instagram is a very popular social media platform that people of all ages use but it is mainly the younger generation. You can use this platform to post stories, reels, and Instagram posts. First, you need to establish your target audience. Next you need to create your account and incorporate what your business is and what you have to offer but then say what you are about. Creating a post on Instagram is pretty simple it all starts by selecting a photo of your business that you think represents what you want to market the best along with what will draw in the most attention from the public. Once you create this post you can repost it on your story, so it gives it more of a chance to be seen by people. Whenever something like a bigger event or something really exciting is going on at the business you can

The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Here we are another week down and things are still going well. We just got back from a nice surprise four day weekend because of snow. I spent my days from last Wednesday night to Saturday afternoon pushing and plowing snow from the cab of our skid loader. I plowed anywhere from 20-25 driveways during each day while pushing big industrial lots and gas stations in the nighttime. This left little time for sleep. Each day I was awake and pushing snow every morning by 4 a.m. and not being done until 9-10 p.m. in the evening. While I knew we were going to get some snow, but I was not totally sure how much we would be getting, I used my Facebook marketing knowledge to let the people know in my surrounding area that I would be cleaning driveways out for $25 a driveway. This led to people telling other people and the word got out and I got super busy. I was able to make quite a bit of money over this three day time period and help people of the community out. Did anyone else do anything over

Chapter 4

Here we are in chapter 4 learning about how to properly market using Facebook which was created by accident by Mark Zuckerberg in his college dorm at Harvard University. The first thing that needs to be done before properly marketing is to first understand how you can use Facebook for marketing. After that you then need to know how to effectively create an account that showcases you as well as what you are marketing for everyone to see. After you have created your page, you need to fill it up with content from your business but not too much that it will bombard people with a ton of things and confuse them. After you have content about your business on your page you need to start to gain some followers so people can actually see what you are and see what you are about. After you get an audience of followers built up you are ready for your post. You will need to post things regarding your business and its involvement in the community so the outside world can understand what you are and

Chapter 3 post

This week we learned about social media advertising. The proper steps for being able to properly advertise your social media platform are to be as followed. First of you must decide what your target market is going to be. For me my target market would be potential business interested in a salesman or a marketer because I am a business major focusing on marketing. Step 2 is that you must do a social media audit to make sure that there are no pictures or bad descriptions of you that a potential employer would see that would raise some red flags. For my audit I typed in my name and my hometown Wapakoneta. For me all that really came up was my football achievements and different pictures of me at my sporting events. Step 3 you must imply your smart goals to make sure that your goals are specific to you, they are measurable, they must be attainable, they must be relevant and lastly, they must be time based. Step 4 you need to determine resources, roles, and responsibilities while also esta

The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Hello everyone, I am back for another week with the transfer from Wapakoneta. This week has been remarkable better than the weeks prior. I have been able to settle in and get into the grove with my schedule. We have football liftings Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday while also having morning conditioning at 6 AM Friday mornings. It is very helpful to have all my football things done in the morning so that I can focus directly on my schoolwork and what I need to be able to have done for my classes later in the day.                There were a few clumsy things that happened to me this week like I started the week off trying to do my laundry, but I could not get my clothes to dry in the dryer. It took it 3 cycles in 3 different dryers to finally get my clothes dry. At first, I thought I put to many clothes in the dryer but I saw the person right next to me put twice as much in as I did so I figured I would be okay. So, after 3 hours of waiting for my clothes to finally be dry enough that
