Chapter 5

Here we are in another week of school learning about how we can use different social media platforms. This week we are learning about how you can use Instagram to market your business. Instagram is a very popular social media platform that people of all ages use but it is mainly the younger generation. You can use this platform to post stories, reels, and Instagram posts. First, you need to establish your target audience. Next you need to create your account and incorporate what your business is and what you have to offer but then say what you are about. Creating a post on Instagram is pretty simple it all starts by selecting a photo of your business that you think represents what you want to market the best along with what will draw in the most attention from the public. Once you create this post you can repost it on your story, so it gives it more of a chance to be seen by people. Whenever something like a bigger event or something really exciting is going on at the business you can utilize the live video feed to show people live footage of what is going on at that second. Instagram has a newer feature on the platform called marketplace. This is where people can list items and sell them along with business selling what they have to offer to the public. Instagram has been a huge help throughout the pandemic because it created a way that people can communicate with friends, family and the outside world.

The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Here we are in another week of school. This week has been kind of crazy as per usual. The week started off on Monday forgetting my bookbag at home causing me to show up late to the lift Monday morning. Later that day I decided to go back home to Wapakoneta to watch my brother play his first baseball game of the year. I got home just in time to ride over to the ballpark with my family but little did I know I forgot my lawn chair.  When I realized I had forgotten my chair it was too late to go home and grab it because I would miss the beginning of the game. Tuesday finally rolled around and let me tell you it was a long one. On Tuesday I had a job introduction day where I had to watch hours upon hours of certification videos so I could operate a forklift for this company. After I finally got out of the videos I had to take a test which was pretty easy so that made me feel like it was not a complete waste of time. Now here we are mid-week on Wednesday. On Wednesday I had to help my da...

The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Hi guys! Here we are the week before spring break and although my week has been a little crazy, we are going to switch up todays blog. Today I am going to be talking about my live tweeting from Tuesday night. On Tuesday I live tweeted the Ohio State men’s basketball game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I was watching the game and updating my followers on twitter with the action going on throughout the game. I gave score updates and updates on how the teams were playing along with the energy inside of the stadium. The Buckeyes came out striking first but as the game went on, they lost a key player in Kyle Young then they could not stop the Cornhuskers when they were driving the ball. Then they were not able to score, and the Cornhuskers took their biggest lead of the night of 11 points and the Buckeyes could not recover from that deficit. The Cornhuskers came out a little slow, but they capitalized off the injuries and mistakes of the Buckeyes and built up their momentum until they ju...

The Transfer from Wapakoneta

Hi guys! Here we are in another week of classes getting ready to wind down to spring break. This week has been better than the past couple of weeks. It started off with a very productive weekend getting tons of stuff done along with helping out on the farm. I live on a farm that raises lots of cattle and pigs. We also farm a little over 2000 acres growing corn and soybeans. This weekend involved a lot of prep work getting the equipment ready to work the ground and plant the crops this spring. You wouldn’t think that there would be much to do in the off season when you aren’t in the fields all the time but thinking this would be wrong. In the off season we have to wash, wax, service and fix and replace all of the broken parts and pieces. Along with these things we have to market our grain and purchase the seed, chemicals and fertilizers that we will need for the next year. We are always looking to improve off of our previous season. We want to always gain a higher yield off of the...
